True excellence begins with authentic leadership and deep martial arts roots. Brabus Academy was established by two world-renowned Nova União champions. UFC Hall of Famer José Aldo and seven-time World Jiu-Jitsu Champion Léo Santos founded this academy together.

Rather than simply licensing a name, these icons built a home for authentic martial arts. They put their championship belts on the wall and their standards on the mat. Consequently, every student benefits from decades of elite competitive experience.

Meet UFC Hall of Famer José Aldo

José Aldo rose through the legendary Nova União academy in Rio de Janeiro under Master André Pederneiras. He earned his black belt through dedication and technical mastery long before competing in the cage. Eventually, he became the greatest featherweight champion in UFC history.

Aldo visits Brabus Academy for special training days, technical seminars, and select programs. Furthermore, his championship belt rests prominently inside our facility. This belt serves as a constant reminder of what hard work and resilience can achieve.

Train Daily with Head Coach Léo Santos

Léo Santos directs our daily training as the senior black belt and head coach of the academy. He built a stellar competitive career within the Nova União system, winning seven world titles. Today, he holds a fourth-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Professor Santos oversees daily classes directly on the mat. Because of his detailed guidance, members learn techniques that have been tested at the highest global levels. Our highly trained instructors assist him in delivering focused instruction to every student.

The Heritage of Nova União

Lineage matters deeply in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu because technique passes from generation to generation. The roundel on our academy wall reads “Nova União – Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu – Since 1995.” This emblem represents an unbroken tradition of elite grappling.

Kids and Teens Martial Arts

Our kids program serves children ages 4 to 12 in a positive, structured environment. In these classes, young students develop athletic coordination, focus, and practical anti-bullying skills.

Similarly, our teen program serves ages 13 to 17 with an emphasis on leadership and athletic development. Teenagers build resilience and learn effective self-defense while training alongside peers.

Adult Fundamentals, Gi, and No-Gi Classes

Adults over 18 can choose from a full schedule of morning, midday, and evening sessions. Our fundamentals curriculum introduces basic movements, escapes, and positions without pressure.

Additionally, we provide advanced Gi and No-Gi training for students aiming to sharpen their skills. Competitive athletes also have access to specialized training to prepare for tournaments. Our highly trained team ensures every class remains safe, engaging, and productive.
